The public look on, as the a fire department rescues a construction worker whilst a fire takes hold at the AIG Campus in Houston, Texas. As the fire took hold, the construction worker seeks refuge on the balcony, he then jumps down onto the balcony below, completely unaided in order to avoid becoming engulfed in the blaze. This video shows a true “Leap of faith”.
Houston fire department (HFD) captain Ruy Lozano said he was rescued ‘pretty much seconds before the fire would have overtaken him’.
Deputy chief Greg Lewis added: ‘There was a report of a couple of guys working on the roof doing welding.
‘When our units arrived, there was a small fire and construction workers were attempting to put it out.’
The cause of the fire, tackled by more than 200 firefighters, is currently being investigated.
The 368-unit apartment complex was completely gutted in the blaze
